Kamin Science Center is Pittsburgh’s most visited museum, with over 500,000 guests annually. It is a hub of innovation and discovery. The museum offers hands-on exhibits, interactive experiences, and awe-inspiring shows for visitors of all ages.

The Challenge

In 2024, the Kamin family made a $65 million gift to Carnegie Science Center, the most visited museum in Pittsburgh. This sparked the need for an updated brand, including renaming the Science Center to the Daniel G. and Carole L. Kamin Science Center. The Science Center is a fixture in Pittsburgh, and the Carnegie name is woven into the city’s heritage. Thus, our challenge was to change the name of a much-loved brand while exciting the region about its reimagined future.

The Work

Research shows that the number one reason people attend museums is to enjoy time with family and friends. The new campaign is designed to showcase the human emotions evoked by a visit to the science center. We positioned it as a great place not just for science, but for the awe-inspiring experiences students, friends, and families can share. Campaign imagery captures the excitement and wonder that visitors of all ages feel as they delve deeper into the mysteries of science. We introduced the tagline “Ignite Your Curiosity” as a rally cry for everyone to come explore, discover, and engage with all that the Kamin Science Center has to offer.

The Result

Throughout our collaboration with Kamin Science Center, we delivered a fully integrated campaign. Work included the new brand strategy, visual identity, marketing communications plan, website redesign, television, outdoor, digital, merchandise, and on-premises marketing.
